Lilac Venus exists because personal safety in Southern Africa demands more than a panic button — it demands an ecosystem designed for the reality of gender-based violence, femicide, and human trafficking.
South Africa has one of the highest femicide rates in the world. Gender-based violence is a daily reality for millions of women, children, and students. Human trafficking routes cross our borders — and Lesotho, landlocked within South Africa, shares these risks intimately.
Existing safety tools treat the problem as a notification problem: press a button, hope someone responds. But hope is not a safety strategy. Evidence gets lost. Response is slow or absent. Survivors are left to navigate systems that were not built for them.
Lilac Venus was founded to close that gap — not with a single feature, but with an integrated ecosystem: an app that captures and communicates, a cloud vault that preserves evidence with legal integrity, and a dispatch centre that coordinates real-world response. Every layer designed to work together, because in a crisis, fragmentation is failure.

A company built for this work
Lilac Venus (Pty) Ltd is a CIPC-registered South African company, registered in Lesotho through the OBFC. We are not a side project or a prototype — we are building production infrastructure for personal safety, with a Lesotho pilot underway and Southern Africa as our long-term operational footprint.
South Africa and Lesotho are where we launch first — because that is where we can serve with the deepest commitment. But our waitlist is open across Southern Africa and beyond. We expand market by market, as conditions allow, never claiming presence we have not earned.
